2019 Aquatics Program

After launching a successful Aquatic Program for all city campuses in 2017, we are excited to launch our 2019 Program, bigger and better.

All children, from Grades 3-7 will be getting four weeks of Aquatics, whereby they will participate in Snorkelling, Swimming Technique, Water Polo, Safety and Rescue, ball games and use of the slides (including the Speed Slide).

We have worked hard to develop a program that is interesting, informative and progresses through each year level. Using parts of the Vacswim Program, we are excited to offer your child an excellent foundation for learning to swim, keeping safe around water, and developing a love for a number of water activities that they may not necessarily ever get the chance to experience.

Activities

Swimming

All Students have the opportunity to learn swimming techniques from various levels. Levels range from getting used to the water to practicing tumble turns.

Snorkeling

Snorkeling activities allow  students to first get comfortable using a snorkel, before learning how to dive and search for items on the pool floor.

Water Polo/ Flipperball

In partnership with Water Polo SA, students learn this great sport and participate in a variety of games.

Rescue and Safety Training

Water safety is important for everyone, therefore students will learn lifesaving skills from surf rescue experts.

Water Slides and Ball Games

The program also provides lots of opportunity for students to enjoy the slides and learn together through various games.

Carnival

Come and Join in this Family Event!

Join us in week four of the Sunrise Aquatics program for the final day, which this year will be an Aquatics Carnival! This is a chance for families to come and witness all of the skills that the children are working on throughout the program. There will be water polo matches, relays, water rescue scenarios, finding objects at the bottom of the pool, and lots of fun activities for the children to participate in. We will also have lawn games, in which you are welcomed to join in, or you may even like to have a try at one of the water slides with your child. We are really excited about this day and look forward to seeing it all unfold.
