School Life

To create an inspiring, well-rounded learning experience, students at every location and in every year level, are offered extra-curricula opportunities in team sports and instrumental tuition.

Sport

We provide a range of sports for your child to try out and take part in, our sports program allowing active learning. Your child may also participate in a number of inter-school events including athletics carnivals and sporting competitions. Our school wide Aquatics Program also allows students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of swimming and water safety, as well as snorkeling, water sports and water polo in partnership with Water Polo SA.

Music & Dance

A range of musical tuition options are offered at each location and are run by qualified and skilled teachers, all of whom are passionate about their discipline. Our school aims to integrate music and dance into the everyday of school education as it provides a creative way to learn and enjoy life together.

Camps

Camps are offered throughout the Sunrise education journey and provide students an opportunity to join with the broader Sunrise community and enjoy great experiences together. A Year 7 camp is offered as part of the Middle School Experience. The year 7 students that have the opportunity to partake in this memorable and exciting trip to Canberra, say it's a highlight of their year.

OSHC (Out of School Hours Care)

Sunrise Christian School Whyalla understands and respects that many children will need some out of hours care due to the unavoidable work and/or study commitments of their parents.

To meet this important need, we proudly offer a high quality accredited OSHC (Out of School Hours Care) programme at all of our campuses.

Our OSHC programme is an extension of the school and therefore an extension of the home. It supports parents and the school community by offering Christ-centred care, that builds upon the nurturing, trusting relationship between staff, parents and children, in a safe, friendly environment.

Led by qualified and caring staff, the programme provides a wide range of stimulating experiences that aims to support the unique interests and developmental needs of each child. For convenience, allocated time for homework is also offered if required.

Your son or daughter will enjoy nutritional snacks during each session while being taught the importance of food hygiene and good manners. What’s more, the menu, and the entire activity programme, is displayed each week, allowing you, your child and staff to add ideas and suggestions.

Please get in touch to have a chat about OSHC times, details and fees – including eligibility for government rebates.
