Sunrise Christian School Early Learning Centre (ELC) at Fullarton provides a homely learning environment to help create trust and security for your child.

Our desire is to be an extension of your home, partnering with you to provide continuity of care for your child and family.

Our faith-based culture underpins everything that we do. We begin each day with devotions and capitalise on every opportunity to teach children about the wonders of God. Many parents come to our centre because they love that children learn Christian values from a young age but enrolment at our ELC is not restricted by a family's faith.

Our staff are experienced and qualified early childhood educators. They take a holistic approach to your child’s learning and see it as an opportunity to invest in your child’s well-being and future.

Due to our unique program and physical location next to Sunrise Christian School, our ELC provides a smooth transition into Reception.

We would love to meet you. You can call us to arrange a personal tour of the centre or join a Principal's Tour hosted by the school. Please call on us on 08 8465 6011 should you need assistance in the decision-making and enrolment process for your child.

Flying Start for Kids
Government of South Australia

3-Year-old Pre-school Partner

We are excited to share that Sunrise Early Learning Centre in Fullarton has been selected as a partner service to deliver the South Australian Government’s new 3-year-old preschool program, commencing from January 2027.

The Flying Start initiative is part of the government’s broader investment in quality early childhood education, aiming to provide more children with access to teacher-led, play-based learning during the critical years before school.

At Sunrise, we believe that a quality preschool for 3-year-olds provides a safe and welcoming environment where children can explore, learn, and grow through play-based activities. It helps children develop their social, emotional, language, and motor skills while encouraging creativity and curiosity.

The introduction of 3-year-old preschool was a key recommendation of the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care, supported by substantial evidence that two years of quality early learning leads to better developmental and educational outcomes than one.

What can you expect from the 3-year-old preschool program?

Sunrise Early Learning Centres will continue to offer our high-quality preschool program with minimal changes. Children will continue to enjoy rich, play-based learning experiences, with a qualified teacher now present in the room to support their development further.

The benefits of the Flying Start program will include providing teachers with more time for planning, access to professional development, and additional support, ultimately enhancing the quality of education across all Sunrise services.

If your child is enrolled at our ELC and will turn 3 in 2027, they may be eligible for up to 15 hours per week in our new 3-year-old preschool program, subject to availability and need.

The program will be led by a qualified early childhood teacher, working collaboratively with early childhood educators, to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Supporting quality and access

While fees for the 3-year-old preschool program will continue to be set by Sunrise ELC, the South Australian Government is investing in:

  • the additional cost of preschool programs being teacher-led
  • additional planning time for teaching staff leading the preschool program/s
  • professional learning and support for leaders, early childhood teachers and educators
  • Preschool boost funds partnering services like ours, allowing access to quality, evidence-informed programs and resources tailored to meet the needs of local children and families.

These supports are designed to enhance the quality of all services and improve outcomes for young children in South Australia, at no additional cost to families.

Join our Playgroup!

We run Playgroups on Tuesdays at Sunrise Fullarton during school terms. Our Playgroups are open to all families who have children from birth to 5 years old and are an opportunity to build community between families and foster nurturing relationships between parents and children. Different themed activities are offered to families throughout the year. These activities are designed to help children develop abilities such as fine motor skills or literacy through song.

Our Playgroups focus on cultivating the relationship between the child and parent. At Sunrise, we believe that parents are the first educators, and therefore our program aims to empower these relationships. Our activities always consider the interactions and trust that is built between the parent and child and also whether it can be simply replicated at home.
