Sunrise Christian School, Marion
Sunrise Christian School, Marion initially started as Maranatha Assembly and School. In 2001, Sunrise decided to take over the school and it became Sunrise Christian School Marion. Sunrise Marion faithfully serves the local Christian community and is continuing to grow.
In January 2019, Sunrise Christian School and Temple Christian College partnered together to provide a unique opportunity for middle school students (Years 7 to 9) at Sunrise Marion. As part of this partnership, middle school students access Temple Christian College experiences within the heart of their primary school before they transition to Temple Christian College Mile End to complete their Year 10 to 12 studies.
Sunrise Christian School is a work that God began 40 years ago and, while we celebrate all that has contributed to the establishment of a strong foundation, we remain eagerly excited to uncover the greater achievements that lie ahead as we develop our partnership with Temple Christian College.
Today, the school is led by the principal, Henry Engelbrecht with governance, oversight and spiritual guidance entrusted to Adelaide Christian Schools (ACS), an incorporated association that governs several schools including Temple Christian College, Sunrise Christian School – Whyalla, Adelaide Christian Schools Early Learning Centres, Discovery Christian College, Queensland, as well as international schools, Sunrise Bethel and Edai Town Christian Schools in Papua New Guinea.
In May 2022, Sunrise Christian School, Marion opened its new architecturally designed Early Learning Centre (ELC). The ELC is part of a 4.5-million-dollar facility upgrade project. Sunrise Marion now offers education from ELC to Grade 9.
